Paddington: A Treasury Of Classic Stories
by Michael Bond 1405/533 illustrated by Peggy Fortnum
first published 1999
Miscellaneous for ages 3 to 99 published by Collins
Mrs Mad's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What's it about?
A collection of classic tales about the inquisitive bear from Peru!
What happens?
Thirty-five classic stories about that much loved bear, starting right back at the beginning.
Is it easy to read?
A lot of text and not many pictures. I think this would be a very good book for an adult to share with a new reader, or to read to a younger child. Perhaps a story each night before bed!
Anything else?
This is a lovely collection of stories about Paddington. I remember reading about him myself as a child and think he will charm a whole new generation of readers. This particular collection would best suit good readers or be a book to share with a child. A nice gift idea.
Other books by Michael Bond include Olga Moves House, The Tales of Olga da Polga.
