Mrs Mad's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What's it about?
A toy rabbit goes outside with the boy who loves him and that night he sees the real rabbits.
What happens?
When Sammy takes Tom Rabbit out on to the back wall to see the real rabbits, he goes back inside without taking his toy rabbit with him. The sun sets and the moon rises and the real rabbits come out to look at the new rabbit sitting on the wall!
Is it easy to read?
A lovely book to share with a very young child and a good choice to help the young beginner.
Anything else?
This is one of those books that you just love to read to your kids, the pictures are so lovely and the story is gentle and sweet. Both of my girls like it very much, they like to talk about the pictures, what is happening in them, especially when the moon comes up! A great book to share and encourage youngsters with.
Other books by Martin Waddell include A Kitten Called Moonlight, Can't You Sleep, Little Bear?, Mimi And The Blackberry Pies, Mimi And The Picnic, Once There Were Giants, Rosie's Babies, Snow Bears, The Big Big Sea, The Pig in the Pond, What Use is a Moose?.
Who says so?
This review by Mrs Mad.
The publisher reckons...
Tom Rabbit is Sammy's soft-toy rabbit. He is happy with Sammy. But one evening Sammy takes Tom Rabbit out to the back field to see the real rabbits - and leaves him on the wall. The sun sets and the moon rises, and dozens of wild rabbits appear. But just as Tom Rabbit thinks he's been abandoned for the night, Sammy appears and carries Tom Rabbit back home to bed.
