Little Miss Mad's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What's it about?
Ethan is Named, he has special powers and can travel back in time to help fight evil forces intent on causing chaos. However he is also an ordinary schoolboy with a teacher who has it in for him!
What happens?
Ethan belongs to a special group of people called the Named, from an early age he has been trained to fight evil forces that try to cause chaos to the world. He is desperate to earn the power of flight, and become a higher member of the guard. However what he gets is an apprentice who just happens to be the younger sister of his ex-best friend. He must get Isabel ready in only three weeks, to go on a dangerous mission in the past, keep his teacher off his back and keep out of the way of Isabel's brother !
Is it easy to read?
Quite easy to read suitable for all.
Anything else?
I loved this book, it was brilliant. Marianne Culey definitely knows how to write a brilliant book. I hope there is a follow up to it as the ending was left with that as a possible scenario. It is wonderful with twists and turns and hidden feelings and agendas all over the place. The characters all get a fair share of the plot and the whole concept is an original idea that quickly drags you into the plot. Wonderful!
Other books by Marianne Curley include Old Magic, The Dark.
Who says so?
This review by Little Miss Mad.
The publisher reckons...
Imagine if you were able to change history. By altering one tiny thing you could start a chain of catastrophic events... if you wanted to. Ethan is one of the Named, fated to stop this ever happening, although the forces of chaos have other ideas and Ethan is finding it more and more difficult to stay one step ahead. He is also a normal schoolboy, with a life which is rapidly becoming too confusing, and when Isabel arrives on the scene, it only make things worse: at first. This is history in the making - literally.
