Mrs Mad's humble opinion
10/10 Excellent work. Well done!
What's it about?
Two different people from different worlds drawn together through magic!
What happens?
Roddy lives with the court of the King, they travel all over the Isles of Blest, but when the old Merlin dies during a ritual ceremony strange things begin to happen. The new Merlin doesn't seem to be all that he should be and the King's progress don't seem to notice anything is wrong. Nick Mallory lives in a much more normal world and is desperate to find a way into the other worlds. When he finally manages it things are a lot harder than he expected and almost immediately someone is sent to kill him. Luckily they don't think he is worth bothering about. When a chance encounter brings Roddy and Nick together she thinks he is the mighty wizard who is going to save Blest, only Nick's not so sure!
Is it easy to read?
A long book this will take someone with confidence and stamina.

She has the perfect touch, always keeping the reader enthralled with her story lines and visual images. There is not a word out of place. I would highly recommend this to older readers, a truly absorbing book to add to your collection of Wynne Jones books. Perfect!
