Mrs Mad's humble opinion
10/10 Excellent work. Well done!
What's it about?
Les Bambinos Dangereuses! The sharpest, funniest, most switched on minxes at Blackwell School.
What happens?
Ronnie and her two best friends Fleur and Claude are Les Bambinos Dangereuses! Three very cool 14 year olds, whose aims in life are to have fun, snog boys and go to the Astlebury Music Festival. Unfortunately their parents seem to have decided they shall have non of these things, even wearing a thong is causing major problems with the old folks! However when their miserable headteacher cancels the Summer Fete, the only chance of even a tiny snog this summer disappears! Not to be outwitted the girls come up with the idea of organising their own Music Festival at school. Suddenly a summer of fun is back on the cards, if they can get all of the bands organised, a stage and sound system on loan and stay on the good side of some of the bitchiest girls in the school. With all of this to sort out they won't have time to think about boys! ( don't you believe it!)
Is it easy to read?
A great choice for teenage girls.
Anything else?
I know I am officially too old for this book, but I loved it. Apart from the bit where Ronnie described anyone past 30 as middle aged. (No Way!) It's full of fun and wit, it's really alive and raring to go. There are loads of laughs and funny incidents, that teenage girls will probably recognise from their own circles of friends. The way Grace Dent writes is so how you expect teenagers to speak and think that it is achingly funny in places. Girls if you only read one book this summer make it this one you'll love it!
Who says so?
This review by Mrs Mad.
The publisher reckons...
This novel follows three teenage friends, Ronnie, Claude and Fleur, who are the irrepressible LBD - Les Bambinos Dangereuse. When their headmaster cancels the school's annual summer fete, they decide to replace it with their own music festival.
