Mrs Mad's humble opinion
10/10 Excellent work. Well done!
What's it about?
Just as good as the other two, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone and Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, so another brilliant book, suitable for all ages! The third book of the series sees Harry pitted against a murdering escaped prisoner.
What happens?
After another lonely summer living with the Dursleys, Harry finally loses his temper and breaks the rules of Hogwarts School by putting a spell on Aunt Marge. Not knowing how to cope, Harry runs away and encounters a frightening creature lurking in the darkness. He is rescued by the Minister for Magic but he soon realises that he is yet again in grave danger.
Is it easy to read?
Like the others, this book is a gift to readers because it is so fast-paced and engrossing.
Anything else?
Well, J K Rowling has done it again. Another masterpiece, the story just gets better. The twists and turns of the plot, the little clues, it's all here. Read this book! Shortlisted for the 2000 Blue Peter Book Awards 'The Book I Couldn't Put Down' . Voted third 'The Best Book To Share ' in the Blue Peter Book Awards 2000.
Other books by J.K. Rowling include Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets, Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
Who says so?
This review by Mrs Mad.
The publisher reckons...
Harry Potter is a wizard! Along with Ron and Hermione, his best friends, Harry is in his third year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Who knows what will happen this year? Read on to find out and immerse yourself in the magical world of Hogwarts…
And here's a sample...
Harry Potter was a highly unusual boy in many ways. For one thing, he hated the summer holidays more than any other time of year. For another, he really wanted to do his homework, but was forced to do it in secret, in the dead of the night. And he also happened to be a wizard. It was nearly midnight, and he was lying on his front in bed, the blankets drawn right over his head like a tent, a torch in one hand and a large leather-bound book (A History of Magic, by Adalbert Waffling) propped open against the pillow. Harry moved the tip of his eagle-feather quill down the page, frowning as he looked for something that would help him write his essay, "Witch-Burning in the 14th Century Was Completely Pointless--discuss". The quill paused at the top of a likely looking paragraph. Harry pushed his round glasses up his nose, moved his torch closer to the book and read: Non-magic people (commonly known as Muggles) were particularly afraid of magic in medieval times, but not very good at recognising it. On the rare occasion that they did catch a real witch or wizard, burning had no effect whatsoever. The witch or wizard would perform a basic Flame- Freezing Charm and then pretend to shriek in pain while enjoying a gentle tickling sensation. Indeed, Wendolin the Weird enjoyed being burnt so much that she allowed herself to be caught no less than 47 times in various disguises.
