Mrs Mad's humble opinion
8/10 You are working hard. Well done.
What's it about?
A boy who is training for his wizard exams, but failing at school, so the authorities decide he needs a minder!
What happens?
Scully is a wizard in waiting, a trainee wizard who is set to follow in his father's footsteps. and take over his father's job. However his efforts in preparing for his wizardry exams have meant that he has fallen behind with his normal school work. So the authorities give him a minder to help him out, she seems like another ordinary person, but as things start to get rather dangerous for Scully, Monica the Minder shows that not all people are exactly what they seem.
Is it easy to read?
A nice book to read for someone who a good reader, perhaps trying to broaden their range of authors. Good for boys and girls.
Anything else?
A good read, written in the form of a narrative by Scully himself. Hendry has created a chaotic, intricate story which hurtles the reader along right from the first page. Always worth checking out anything by this author.
Other books by Diana Hendry include Harvey Angell, Harvey Angell and the Ghost Child, The Crazy Collector.
