Mrs Mad's humble opinion
7/10 This is quite a good piece of work.
What's it about?
Harvey Angell is back, helping his young friend Henry out with a lonely ghost in a seaside house.
What happens?
Henry has never been on holiday before and so when the occupants of 131 Ballantyre Rd decide to go the seaside he is very excited. However it is not quite what he, or anyone else, was expecting. A dark gloomy and gloomy house which looks like it has been empty for years and a very unfriendly landlord. Even the weather is dark and brooding, but Henry knows he is in for an exciting adventure when he hears sobbing late at night in a boarded up room. Only one person can help him with this problem, so he calls on his old friend Harvey Angell.
Is it easy to read?
A good read for those who are confident of their own abilities, also a nice book to share with a child. Do try to read Harvey Angell first as it is set before this story and helps it make sense.
Anything else?
A spooky new follow up to Diana Hendry's first story about Harvey Angell. Anyone who read the first book will find this just as good. All the old characters are back and the ghostly element gives the story a slightly new twist
Other books by Diana Hendry include Harvey Angell, Minders, The Crazy Collector.
Who says so?
This review by Mrs Mad.
The publisher reckons...
A sequel to the award-winning "Harvey Angell". The eponymous hero uses his extraordinary powers to investigate a ghost in a Scottish fishing village, and to discover what her trouble is and why she is unable to rest quietly in her grave.
