Mrs Mad's humble opinion
10/10 Excellent work. Well done!
What's it about?
Harry Potter's back! in this wonderful follow-up to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone.
What happens?
Harry's guardians, the Dursleys, are as mean and stupid as ever, and someone is out to stop him getting back to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. When he gets there with the help of his friends, he flies straight into adventure after adventure. All the old characters are there, with a few new ones to get to know.
Is it easy to read?
The pace zips along and although the plot is intricate it's not at all difficult reading. There's plenty of humour and the genius of the author shows. I hope there'll be many more from J.K. Rowling.
Anything else?
Voted fourth 'The Best Book To Share ' in the Blue Peter Book Awards 2000.
Other books by J.K. Rowling include Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire, Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban.
Who says so?
This review by Mrs Mad.
The publisher reckons...
Harry Potter is a wizard. He is in his second year at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Little does he know that this year will be just as eventful as the last - even getting there is an adventure in itself!
And here's a sample...
He missed Hogwarts so much it was like having a constant stomach ache. He missed the castle, with its secret passageways and ghosts, his lessons (though perhaps not Snape, the potions master), the post arriving by owl, eating banquets in the Great Hall, sleeping in his four-poster bed in the tower dormitory, visiting the gamekeeper, Hagrid, in his cabin in the grounds next to the forbidden forest, and especially, Quidditch, the most popular sport in the wizarding world (six tall goal-posts, four flying balls and fourteen players on broomsticks)...
And what do you think?

J K Rowling's sequel to Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone carries on where the original left off. Harry is returning to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry after the summer holidays and, right from the start, things are not straightforward.
