Mrs Mad's humble opinion
8/10 You are working hard. Well done.
What's it about?
When Mum gets a bad cold Sadie has to become a Mum-Minder for a week!
What happens?
Sadie's mum is a child-minder, but when she gets a bad dose of flu, Sadie has to help look after the smaller children. This leads to an hilarious few days going to some of the mum's places of work and disrupting their routines. Can Sadie keep it together long enough for her Mum to get better or will disaster strike when she least expects it?
Is it easy to read?
An excellent choice for the growing reader, it's not too long and the pictures help.
Anything else?
A lovely book by Jacqueline Wilson, it's funny and will bring a smile to anyone's face. As always with her books it's pacy and full of descriptions and funny observations. A brilliant read.

The publisher reckons...
Told in her own words, this is an hilarious account of one chaotic week in the life of an eight-year-old girl whose mother is a child-minder. By the award-winning author of "The Suitcase Kid" and "The Story of Tracy Beaker".
And what do you think?
Isobel Thomas, Hertingfordbury Cowper Primary School
I chose this book because it is funny and exciting. It is about Sadies mum who is a minder but catches the flu. So Sadie and the mums of the babies take turns in looking after the babies and taking them to work. It has a funny and entertaining result. i g

"I'm Sadie and I'm nearly nine. Mum's a childminder, but she doesn't have to mind me. I can mind myself, easy-peasy." But when Sadie's mum goes down with flu Sadie finds herself spending her half-term holiday not only looking after her mum but helping to

I loved the book it was brilliant and I thought that It could"t have been any better. The book was about Sadies Mum who was a childminder but became ill during Sadies school holidays, but she makes a plan and what a good plan it is.
