Mrs Mad's humble opinion
9/10 Very good. I am pleased with this.
What's it about?
Jade and Vicky are always together, Jade usually taking the lead from her larger-than-life best friend. But when Vicky is killed in a tragic accident Jade has to come to terms with her death.
What happens?
When her best friend is killed Jade cannot believe she'll never see her again. But fortunately for her, Vicky has no intention of being dead lying down. She comes back to make her presence felt, no matter what Jade is doing. In lessons, out running or trying to make new friends, Vicky is there in the background keeping tabs on her best friend!
Is it easy to read?
As with all her books this is easy to read, but it needs some thought and maturity to really take on board what the author is trying to get over. A useful book to have on any school bookshelf.
Anything else?
Another masterpiece from one of our best authors, this has all the wonderful touches we can expect from her books and is witty and gentle. Wilson definitely knows how to tackle difficult subjects that many adults would be wary of broaching.
Other books by Jacqueline Wilson include Bad Girls, Best Friends, Buried Alive!, Cliffhanger, Connie and the Water Babies, Double Act, Dustbin Baby, Girls in Love, Girls Out Late, Girls Under Pressure, Glubbslyme, How to Survive Summer Camp, Lizzie Zipmouth, Lola Rose, Midnight, My Brother Bernadette, Secrets, Sleepovers, The Bed and Breakfast Star, The Cat Mummy, The Dare Game, The Illustrated Mum, The Lottie Project, The Mum-Minder, The Story of Tracy Beaker, The Suitcase Kid, The Werepuppy, Twin Trouble.

The publisher reckons...
Jade is so used to being with and agreeing with Vicky, her best friend, that when a tragic accident occurs, she can hardly believe that Vicky's no longer there. But Vicky is not going to let being dead stop her from enjoying life to the full. Wherever Jade is, Vicky makes her presence felt.
And what do you think?
